In 2007, the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York held an exhibit called "Design for the Other 90%." In its outside garden gallery, it showcased a collection of designs by designers to improve the world for those in developing regions. It was a powerful reminder that much of the world has no electricity or motors, and relies on human power to solve its challenges. At September's forum, we showcase the potential of available tools, share some human-powered solutions having an impact in parts of the world, and invite you to become involved as we look to launch a new initiative where we design solutions. Join us.
