Programs

“The particular uniqueness of Springboard programs is the clear understanding of what it takes to move through the social entrepreneuring process from start to finish.  They do this by guiding and moving launchers step-by-step, utilizing their own expertise and linkages to incredibly innovative, competent and skilled individuals and organizations. This is done with the understanding that it is human nature to get stuck in one task or another.

Consequently we are kept on pace with supportive, thought provoking, and interesting tasks aimed at constantly moving us forward."

YOUTH AGENDA

Our youth must be invited to lead change.
We believe everyone has a role, including the young. The incredible power of the young can provide them with invaluable experience when allowed to follow a path that matters to others. The youth of the world has asked to be invited to have a meaningful role, and we help them take it on with real skills, knowledge, and practices gleaned from successful leaders from the global stage.

Youth Agenda: focused on including youth in meaningful leadership.

Our programs are comprehensive and real. Kids don't want simulations, or pretend activities. They want to learn about how to do things that matterthings that connect them with the real world. Youth Agenda teaches youth how to put forward a real agenda that's shared by their own communities that create justice, equity, and security.

Youth Agenda in your city.
We are planning a national training on Youth Agenda for 2010. We are seeking local organizations that already serve youth, yet want to expand their programming. We have worked with youth from all kinds of cities, communities, and regions. We ensure the program is appropriate for the context, and then help you provide the program through a train-the-trainer program. Contact us for more information.

In Youth Agenda teens learn to explore complex issues.
Teens are just beginning to see themselves as powerful actors in the world. Before they think of themselves as having to accept the world as it is, let's help them see themselves as drivers of change. Youth Agenda is an engaging, comprehensive experience that moves youth into important vital roles in the community, connecting them with relevant adults and real-world ideas.

Strengthening youth abilities through real world actions.

Our schools don't often offer the kind of opportunities for youth to engage in the real world. We need to provide new kinds of opportunities for young adults to work alongside us. They need authentic experiences that pushes them to see themselves as truly powerfulin ways community members can see.

Beyond entrepreneurship—social entrepreneurship.
The word "entrepreneurship" means "assume the risk; take responsibility for." It simply means someone coming forward and saying, "I'll take that on. I'll take some action to make something happen." If youth learn early on that they there are a variety of ways to be entrepreneurial, we have encouraged a broader spectrum of people to join in creating a better future.

Our program Challenge and Change was designed specifically for the Girl Scouts of the USA, teaching girls the skills to identify community problems they care about, recognize and build on local assets, design a sustainable solution, and build an action plan. It is one example of Youth Agenda in action.
