HATCH

The northern elevation of 228 NE Broadway. A 1914 building that started life as a dairy. It's our planned home for Hatch.

Hatch: A Community Innovation Lab

Every day social entrepreneurs around the world are proving that we can address social and environmental challenges and also be profitable. These pioneers are forging pathways to a re-imagined economy.

Hatch is about challenging what we think is true.

It is turning assumptions on their head and making our best ideas possible. It is redefining words like value and capital. Hatch will attract entrepreneurs and enterprises that will create more than jobs—it will incubate livelihoods that nurture the spirit, grow the economy, and improve community.

Hatch will offer amenities to the neighborhood, resources to the city, economic growth to the region, a model for the country, and a network of innovation for the world.

Much more than just a building…

Hatch will fill the gap of specialized services, affordable rents, professional guidance, and financial access, strengthening the innovation ecosystem. A place to grow a new enterprise pipeline that invites inspired citizens to engage and offers the best place for eco-social enterprises to start up, get financed, and grow to scale.

Hatch is more than a place and a network – it is a movement. It is a place to truly hatch a new future.

Hatch is a place where people and programs come together to design and launch a new generation of social enterprises. We're bringing together under one roof the professional support services such as finance, legal, prototyping) education programs, and the emerging social start-ups. We can't take the risk that conventional organizations will solve the problems we face. It's time to place our bets on us.

Hatch is one more expression of Springboard's mission: to help citizens design and launch sustainable, innovative solutions to local and global challenges.
